We'll be playing on the Saturday nite of ACL fest at the Enchanted Forest, Austin's own hidden gem.  MM will go on around midnight, followed by DJ Manny... bring your own everything, we'll provide plenty of eye, ear, and brain candy.. lets party!

We're headed back out to beautiful Colorado again but this time for only a couple special, intimate shows.  As some of you might know String Cheese Incident is playing their LAST shows ever at Red Rocks for 4 sold out nights.  Well we wanted to be a part of that magic any way we could.  On Friday the 10th we will be playing Cervantes Ballroom in Denver as we've been told that this is THE hangout for post Red Rocks shows.....we aim to please.  Also, the next night we will be at the Stage Stop in Rollinsville for all you Nederland folk to keep the energy rollin!  See ya there, check out our Myspace for more details.  Also, if you would like to help spread the word for us at Red Rocks then please shoot us an email and let us know.   Cheers!

We are pumped to be playing the Maple Leaf Bar in the magical city of New Orleans for the first time on Saturday August 18th which happens to be the night after our 2 day run with Green Lemon (Austin, Houston).   For those of you who don't know, the Maple Leaf is a nationally known venue for some of the most top notch acts in the states.  All the old school cats like Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Nevel brothers, etc have played there and still do on a regular basis.  Stanton Moore is playing the next night after the Matter and so we're not sure if we want to leave!   We would love to see some of you Texas people make the trip with us....

Well the Granada show was just as amazing as we expected it to be.  That place is sonic decadence combined with the visual mystique of an old haunted house.  Matter of fact we have actually heard from some of the staff that the place is haunted.  Either way the theater exudes excellence from the staff to the backstage accommodations all the way to the bathroom cleanliness!  We had a great crowd as well and THANK YOU for all that came out and did the twist and shout!  You know who you are.

You will see some of the pics below taken by their house photographer Bill Ellison, thanks a ton Bill they came out awesome.  Also, the link below will lead to the FREE DOWNLOAD of the entire show.  We uploaded it this weekend and it sounds pretty damn good.  The bass is a little weak and the vocals a bit hot but whaddayagonnado?!

A big thanks to Topaz for sitting in with the Matter on the Beatles cover "Come Together".  He ripped some stellar sax solos and also added some really nice color to the song overall.  We hope top play with him again very soon. Again, just go to the link below for archive.org and download the mp3's whenever you want.

We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with friend and fan, Peter Bean, to discuss the idea of creating a new website that is simple, entertaining, engaging and fun all at the same time.  Peter's idea was for us to involve as many people as possible in the project and keep the community that we have at the live shows as growing as the one we have here on MovingMatter.com.  We discussed Myspace.com and how much of an impact it has had on the music industy and social scene and more importantly why.  The answer:  fresh ideas, new topics, the ability to interact, and fan involvement.

We also realized that because we didn't offer any of those things on our old website, it suffered immensely and had very few recurring visitors.   For this we apologize and say "No more of dat shit!"  We also drew back to the notion that we, as a band, are trying to create and maintain a community here -- in real life and on the world wide web.  Therefore we have created a Blog section that will hold all kinds of new and appealing content including MM news, music news, world news, personal news and of course the Video Du Jour.  Everyone can, and is encouraged, to check in daily for shit that might make you think, laugh, listen or feel.  You can comment freely on any News or Blog item and again......PLEASE DO, we want to hear from you!!  Make sure and let us know what you think of these ideas and any site comments or recommendations you might have by simply commenting on this news item itself or by going to our Contact page and hitting us up with an email.

Essentially, we would like for MovingMatter.com to be a place that you put in your browser "quick links" area and/or bookmark area and that you visit once a day just to pop in and speak your mind or watch a vid or two......all the while listening to some good ole Matter while you're chillin.   We want MovingMatter.com to be an entity itself and not just another band site that you log on to see what shows are coming up.  Thats the old, live in the now...

Cheers,
Chris, Josh, Dustin, Danny

p.s. Thanks Superbean!!
