Greetings, and thanks for stopping by our website. We know, yes the website is a bit dusty, we're working on that. As you already know MM has been together 12+ years, going on 13. We've recently taken on a new member, Evan Bozarth. He joins us on the bass and vocals and whatever else we can find that makes notes. This isn't the first time we've tinkered around with ye'ole Eboz, in fact he's been sharing stages with us for many years on and off. He comes from Groovin Ground, the Trim, the Portal and many other Austin bands... If you didn't notice, he's Dustin's brother. MM has been a bit stagnant for the last year or two playing here and there and not really having much direction at all. We played a few gigs at Golden Corral and did Grego Fest and a few other local shindigs, but for the most part we've been laying low. Well that shit is over, we're getting back on the road so we rock yer f'n face off! Not much to report on this very moment, we've got a show at Jovita's in Austin coming up. We're planning some things in the background and we've got a show in Dallas coming up as well. We recently released live at the Grenada Theater, u want buy? Anyway please check us out on Facebook and Twitter, etc. Here's our Facebook link The Official Unofficial Galactic after party hosted by Time2fly Music & MOMO'S. All your favorite people are coming over after the Galactic show at Stubbs. Headlining the after party is Austin's favorite jam band Moving Matter! (Moving Matter will be the only MM band playing this night. Melody Memoey and Fatty Lumpkin will not be performing.) Also, Lubbock/Dallas' own SPiVEY, who opened up for Perpetual Groove at the Granada Theater this month, will be rocking there original drum and bass experimental music at the 10 spot. It was a rager last time Moving Matter and Spivey played together at Momo's and now there is a new and improved bar staff. Opening the night is Ausitn's Blues band King Buscuit who features the harmonics and vocals of Kurt McMahan of "Exile on Main St" tribute shows and Deadeye. Join the fun! $10 at the door. King Biscuit 8-9:30 Spivey 9:45-11:45pm Moving Matter 12am-? MM's Own keymaster Dustin Bozarth will be performing in the band for this.. and Moving Matter will open the night on the huge outdoor stage (7-8pm) ..do not miss! tickets going fast.. http://www.whichonespink.net/ GregoFest 5 is taking place at Purple Bee studios on June 11th, 2011.. always an epic time. check the facebook event for more details.. to give you a taste of the traditional late night MM set - here is a vid from last year. Moving Matter is teaming up with our good buddies ToasT to put on a very special post Thanksgiving party. We anticipate some very special guests and hopefully some mix match jamming between bands. The Flamingo Cantina will be hosting the event on Saturday November 27th. ToasT will start the night off at 10pm. The first 50 to attend will receive a free copy of Moving Matter's 2005 studio release, InfraBlue. We look forward to celebrating the many beautiful things we have to be grateful for, especially you, our fans. Please understand that without you, we are like a thanksgiving dinner without a turkey. So come on out you turkeys! Dan took some classes on film editing during his college years at Colorado State University. His final project was to create a video of some sort. He decided to make a Moving Matter video of the song "Flight of Chance." He did a great job. Please enjoy. Yes, that's right, there's a party at the Pussycat Lounge in Dallas, TX on Friday June 25th. It's a special celebration for an old D-Town local visiting from Colorado. Moving Matter is playing two sets at 10 pm with a DJ in between. Please come out early to get this party started. Brobie 1 Kenobie is bumping the night off with his gnarly beats and sick syncopation. Plan on staying up late for this one. There's an after party at the Time 2 Fly Music office. Let us know if you need directions... San Marcos ripper, Funkotron, asked US to share an elegant evening of face melting at the Ruta Maya Coffee House in South Austin on Friday April 30th, 2010. Moving Matter is the supporting act, starting around 10pm. It's not often that Moving Matter gets the opportunity to play in their current home town. We really appreciate the continuing support of our fans and hope to see some smiling faces. Moving Matter is glad to debut our first headlining appearance at the Triple Crown in San Marcos, TX. The show is on Thursday May 13th, 2010. Apparently this is the week after finals, but the week before graduation, so we're planning to give the college kids a great reason to celebrate. Opening acts include San Marcos locals Fotoelectric Effect, a funky dance & trance band, and Austin's very own poppish rock sound, The Love It Band. The show starts at 9pm. Moving Matter is scheduled to play from 12am to 1:30am. The price is right, so come on down. | MatterMailNews ArchivesFebruary 2012 CategoriesAll |
